BASS GUIDE – INSTRUCTIONAL FISHING – FUN
TRIPS
Let me bring your bass fishing to a new level.
The
10-pound, 2-ounce bass shown was caught while fishing a Bassmaster
tournament on the St. Johns River in Florida and is believed to
be the biggest bass caught in any pro tournament in 2002. This
bass was released back into the St. Johns River. I caught the bass
using a 1-oz. tungsten Penetrater weight proto type, manufactured
by my company, Penetrater Weights.
Rather than show you some of the hundreds of pictures of bass
caught by me while fishing tournament circuits and by my guide
clients, I would like to tell you a little about how I can help
you become a more proficient angler, whether you’re an experienced
angler or a novice.
After fishing in Pennsylvania since age five, I moved to Florida
in the early eighties and have spent almost fifty years on the
water chasing bass. I have been guiding clients in Florida since
1984 and throughout the years, I have found many anglers have misconceptions
about a successful bass fishing trip.
The biggest misconception of getting a bite every five minutes,
as they show on television, is not what I have found to be the
real truth of bass fishing. Certainly, I have clients that have
had that type of day, but for the most part 12 to 15 fish a day
is a very good day.
Several variables are involved in the formula for successfully
attracting and catching bass, among them:
-
The weather, time of day or night, and the
moon phase.
-
The type water you’re fishing.
-
What rod and reel and
test line to use.
-
The selection of bait to use.
-
Where to throw the bait and how to work
the bait.
-
How long to throw the bait before trying
something different.
These are questions you have to ask. Did you find the answers
to them and if you did, did it help? If it did help you, you are
on your way to getting more bites in a day. If not, I can help
you find the answers and improve the quality of your fishing experience.
I can take you on a trip in search of landing that big fish of
your dreams or simply a good day of fishing. I can also spend a
day with you improving your angling skills.
I have clients that have fished with me as long as 22 consecutive
years and each year they keep learning and improving their skills.
Some land bass as big as 15 pounds and some spend days where we
have 15 bass over 5 pounds in the boat, all of which are great
days.
Below are my rates. Trips do not include live bait if you wish
to fish live bait. Live bait is reserved and must be paid in full.
All trips are catch and release, regardless of size.
Half day (4 hrs. on the water) $ 250.00
Full day (7 hrs. on the water) $ 350.00
Daylight to Dark (no time limit) $ 500.00
These rates are for up to two anglers. If you would like to bring
more than two, it will depend on the type fishing you want to do.
I will also do shoreline instruction with limited time on the
water. The fee is the same as on the water, but you can bring up
to six people for a shoreline day of instruction.
I fish out of North Central Florida, including Rodman Reservoir,
the St. Johns River and many other area lakes. I am 30 miles east
of I-75 in Gainesville, Florida; 25 miles west of Palatka, Florida;
and 28 miles north of Ocala, Florida.
I look forward to helping you experience the abundant fishing
opportunities available in this area and improving your angling
skills.
